Preparing to Manage Human Resources

“Preparing to Manage Human Resources” gives you a foundation to develop your own approach to human resource management (HRM). Learn different HRM strategies when managing your employees, legal aspects of HRM, and what motivates employees.

We recommend this course if you have employees in your business, or are thinking about hiring employees, and want to learn more about effective human resource management.

This course covers: 

  • Alternate approaches to managing human resources
  • What makes employees work?
  • Legal aspects of human resource management

“Preparing to Manage Human Resources” takes about 19 hours total to complete. If you want to finish the course in a month, take 4 to 5 hours a week to watch the four modules and complete the readings and practice exercises. This course is offered by the University of Minnesota through Coursera, an online educational platform that gives you access to hundreds of free college-level courses.
